yeah its easy obviously when you know how.. i would suggest going into your help menu while using excel.. get the help page to guide you through pie charts.. its all in the x y axix

click on the cell area you want the chart to show up at
click on the pie chart in your tool bar and choose what format you wish to use.
highlight the cells your wanting information from, for example if you have a column for employees (column A) and their wages (Column B) highlight a box around the titles and their names all the way to the bottom of the last payroll box in column B. Once selected hit OK and then a pie chart will be created with a label of their names and wages showing it in what ever format you have chosen.
Once the pie chart has been created you can resize it and move it on your worksheet however you see fit.
that's about all there is to it... its pretty simple
If you have other questions that need answered for excel the best place to go is Google groups and search for excel. I use it alot when trying to find programming answers that I can not come up with.

IIRC, there is a thing called Chart Wizard. It takes you through the process step by step.

select your information and then press the chart button (top) once you do that then you should have a box that tells you which chart to select
