Eight does have something to do with the game. You try to get rid of it. Have you ever played?

I don't know what some of these other peopel are talking about but in crazy eights, you get eight cards, and if you have an eight in your hand, it is basically a wild card, you can change the suit.

crazy eights is played like, if you smack down a card and its an eight than you win..if you catch it..it does have to do with eights.....

It's called Craxy 8s because playing an 8 allows you to change to suit to whatever you want.
