Times before you were born. Those were the good old days.
When Ice Cream Cone and Coca Cola were a nickle and gas was 20 cents a gallon. A movie and a candy bar would cost 15 cents, and you could ride a Street Car for a dime and they had rumble seats in cars.

It's the "good old days"! I think it just means times that have gone by where things were simpler and easier and maybe more fun to some. Could be ten years ago or twenty. To me it's 25 or more years ago but I think it's an opinion thing.

Old days is the past. Like cones being 10 cents or relatively low prices.

For everyone who uses the phrase, it means a different period but exactly the same thing . . . before life started sucking like it does today (it may well have sucked then, but the way it sucks now is "different").

my guess would be at whatever time your parents were raised in, or maybe if you are old yourself, the time you grew up in. They were never really"good", they just seem nice when you remember them and the fond memories.
