According to Joe Strummer's Wikipedia page, the writers are Dave Bartholomew, Antoine "Fats" Domino, and Robert Guidry. Strummer remade this song on his posthumous "Streetcore" CD w/ the Mescaleros. The song has been recorded by several people. The song was originally titled "Before I Grow Too Old," and I believe it was originally sung by Fats Domino.
