CD-R's that are labeled "Music CD-Rs" should most likely work in all players. Burn music as Audo disc and not data disc if the car stereo does not support Mp3 playback.

Ofcourse if your car stereo is one of the older type it may not accept CD-Rs of any type at all.

Also:
1. You should always finalize the disc.
2. Preferably burn at a lower rate (like 10-12x) otherwise an relatively older stereo may take a long time to read the track for some reason.

CD-R (write once only) CDs are compatible with most, if not all players (never heard of one that wasn't).

However, CD-RW (rewritables) are not compatible with most car stereos.

Also, be sure to burn your CDs in music disc format... simply copying the MP3s or WMAs over usually isn't compatible with older car stereos (only a rare few play MP3 discs).

i think it depends on the format you burn it on. most cars can only play a regular cd format. there is another way to burn more music on a Cd by burning it to a mp3 format. but you wont be able to listen to this in the car. hope this helps.

Any brand CD-R will do. Make sure you burn it as an Audio Disc, not Data Disc.
