You can always transfer money from bank to bank almost anywhere in the world. (Usually at great expence and effort.) I hate to be the one to tell you but having an account in one country will be of NO HELP whatsoever. Because of individual nation's separate laws and the desire to keep them separate to control international monetary transfers there is absolutely no direct access allowed between HSBC (or any Bank's) accounts in one country to another.

(I once enquired about paying my Canadian ScotiaBank VISA card in the ScotiaBank branch here in Mexico, not a chance!)

Yes, you can wire transfer money from any bank in the world as long as the sending bank has all the particulars of the receiving bank and the customer account. It usually includes a SWIFT number.

Oh yes, it always costs money.

probably yes, all they really need is your acct no. it would be like having them deposit a check at your local branch, any currency changes, or charges should be taken inhouse with no cost to you, if it involves a large quantity, you`ll also be issued a form from the irs, to be declared at tax time, any money crossing over the border is going to be subject to home land secruity rules also.
