If so, how can you explain the fact that the Big Ten is 32-11 for non-conference games?

Nope. It's just that the people who vote in the poles don't like the Big 10. The two best teams in the nation are Big Ten teams and if the contest is close on Saturday, they will still be the two best teams in the nation and should have a rematch in the National Championship game.

I think the top 3 teams for the Big Ten (OSU, Michigan, and Wisconsin) could be put up against the top 3 teams from any other conference and come out on top. Other than the top 3 teams, the Big Ten is kinda weak.

Everyone votes Ohio State and Michigan as the two best teams in the country and all the sports talkers want to say is the Big 10 is weak this year. Maybe the fact that they play each other and knock each other off keeps them from having better records. Penn State has lost four games to teams currently ranked in the top 15 (3 of the top 6) and they don't get ONE vote as a top 25 team? Doesn't make sense to me.

The Big Ten plays the MAC in non-conference games mostly.
And Minnesota plays Division 1-AA schools.

You can't say weak when they have two of the best in the country.
But you can say the conference is not deep this year at all. It is completely top heavy. Michigan and OSU are great. Wisconsin is very good. Everyone else is a cupcake. Penn State has a horrible offense. Iowa can't play consistent to save their lives. Mich State is a basketcase.

They're not as strong as usual, except for OSU and Michigan, but they're always a strong conference (I think they're the toughest in the NCAA)
