Relax sweetheart :) It is ok to be nervous. If you have a pad on you will be ok for a while. If it is your first one it probably won't be that heavy. Depending on the thickness your pad should last you between 1 1/2-4 hours before you have to change it. Put on some comfy sweat pants put in a good movie, curl up with a blanket and wait foe your mom to get home. If you get any blood on your clothes, don't let it dry or it will set and stain. Soak your panties or pants in COLD water and put some hydrogen peroxide on the spot. The peroxide breaks down the blood cells and will help lift the stain. I hope that helps. We have all been there. Feel free to e-mail me if you have any more questions. :)

You are doing the right thing by wearing a pad, just change it every 2-3 hours until your mum gets home, then talk to her and tell her about it. Find a clander and write down the day it started so you know roughly when the next one might come (about 28 days later) however when you are first startign off it might come irrigular, just talk to your mum about it

you dont ned much knowledge about periods. I call them my once a month devils. They are sometimes painful, for that take midol r pamprin. But do not take any if you can handel the pain because drugs are bad for you. Make sure you change your pad every 3-4 hours, more if you have heavy periods. If you keep one to long bacteria will start growing on the pad.

since you know how to use a pad already, after a few hours change it. If you get cramps take a warm bath, drink some hot chocolate or go to sleep. as soon as your mom comes home tell her about your good news that you are a woman now.

umm, whoever gave this a thumbs-down is an idiot.
anyways... that's too bad your mom's not home. it's good to change the pad every 3-5 hours or so, for sanitation's sake. When your mom gets home, let her know. There are pads designed for younger females that are more comfortable and more suited to your needs.
Good luck girlie, and welcome to womanhood.

If you have a box of pads, just read the directions. When that pad gets full, put on a new one. You should be ok until your mom gets home. And if it got on your clothes, wash them in COLD water.

Okay, you're wearing a pad.....good :) If it gets soaked, put on a new one. If you are getting really bad cramps, eat a banana (I swear, they work) or take an extra strength Tylenol. Use a heating pad if its really bad, and apply it to the area your cramps are worst. Drink water.......they say 6 to 8 glasses....but I mean, come on you're going to get bloated. Eat chocolate....it really does work! Take a walk, apparently exercise helps....lol :) Nothing to get excited over......:) just take it easy, and wait till ur mom gets home!.....I guess I should say Congrats lol :)

Don't worry, i was nervous the first time i got mine too. If your way too uncomfortable to just tell her, write down a note asking her to pick you some pads up or something, on her way home. Don't get too worried, it happens to every girl on the planet. No worries.

Welcome to womanhood, you did great that's all you need is a pad and make sure to change it as need it, don't worry about any funny smells it's natural. Make sure to tell your mother when she gets home and also stay away from boys so you won't get pregnant. Good luck!
