My friends wife had her twin sons at 25 weeks... They are still in the hospital, and gaining weight every day. Follow your docs intructions, and have some faith. Good luck to you.

With all the technology that is availabe, your baby will more likely be fine. Do expect a stay in the neonatal intensive care for a while while he gains weight and gets healthy. Talk with your doctor about a tour thru the NICU if you are able. That way you will know what to expect. He may be on the ventilator because the lungs are one of the last organs to develope. This is normal for babies that are that premie. This is done to help them untill their lungs mature and isnt a bad thing.
My co worker delivered her baby at 25 weeks. He weighed less than 2 pounds. While he is still in the NICU, he is progressing well and should go home in a few weeks. I hope this gives you hope. I will pray for you and your baby. Keep the faith and everything will be fine......

Oh, first I am so sorry that you have to go through this at such a young age. I don't know if you believe in God, but my best advice is to pray pray pray!!! two and a half pounds is very small, but miracles happen everyday! Everything will be harder with being so young, but hold your head high and love your baby! Try checking out the March of Dimes website... there's a lot of stories to provide you with some hope. Just do the best you can, be nice to yourself... take care of yourself and baby!!!

doctors say a lot of things. and half of it isnt true. not that i want you to not believe what they are saying...but there have been sooooo many doctors saying, you cant do this ever again, or this wont work out for you, and SOOOOOO many ppl have proven those doctors wrong. you know what you can do to help yourself along? cont. to eat healthy and say your prayers. take your vitamins and dont stress out. stressing out is whats gonna cause you problems. so be positive and dont worry. say your prayers and everything will be fine. if its not, then you are free to punch me in the face. :)
love jen.
ps. who ever posted this
"If the doctor says theres not a big chance of the baby dying then believe him, but YOUR 13?????? you made a big mistake"
you're an idiot.

i know it's easy for me to say but TRY not to worry! babies can live from 24 weeks now so i'm sure everything will work out just fine, 2 and a half pounds already is excellent. my youngest son was born at just 4lb 12oz and is doing great so there are good endings!
technology being what it is, things get better and better for premature babies all the time.

You really never know what will happen, but think positive and I'm sure you will be fine? Did he suggest bed rest for you or anything like that? Just do your best at staying healthy and giving your baby the nutrients he needs.

My son was born 3 months premie, weighed only 2.5 pounds. He had alot of problems when he was born-one of his lungs wasn't fully developed, he had a hernia, and jaundice.
He is now 11 going on 12, weighs over 80 pounds. I'm not going to lie to you, he still has many problems. He is in a wheelchair due to CP, and he has severe asthma.
The key is NEVER give up on your child, keep up hope. The doctors told me that he wouldn't make it, but I refused to take that for an answer, I told them that I will give up on him ONLY when he gives up.

lots of bed rest, take it easy. do everything your supposed to do, listen to your doctor, and hope for the best. that would be a very scary thing to hear. but after the baby is delivered make sure you spend as much time as possible with it! babies who have their parents around to hold, touch, and talk to often do way better then those who dont. i hope everything goes well. good luck to you and you chid! :)

I certainly hope so! Trust that no matter what happens God loves you and is in control, even in bad circumstances that seem horrible and like you can't make it through!
With technology today I am sure the doctors will be well prepared for your baby!

it is very possible that yes, your baby will be ok,
just do your best to take the best care of yourself until the
baby is born, it won't be easy since the baby will be born very small & might have to stay in the hospital for a while
until he/she is big & stong enough to come home, but all
you can do is take one day @ a time & pray for God to keep you & the baby healthy & strong.
best of luck
