It is actually called preeclampsia or chronic hypertension, I have it, but mine is controlled with a diet and LOTS of water, I have to check my blood pressure twice a day and keep a chart and every time I have a doctor's appointment I have to give them my chart, that way we keep track of what my blood pressure is at home. Your blood pressure should be fine at home when you are relaxed and with noworries. When I am at home my blood pressure is usually 125/80 but when i go to the doctor it is always 145/95, I just get nervous but what counts is what your bleed pressure is at home. So do what I do.
We have a risk of having premature babies but you can actually help yourself and take care of yourself and have a healthy baby. I was told that I was going to be induced on week 39 if everything is fine. Have you talked to your doctor? you can be put in medication that would lower your blood pressure and it would not harm your baby at all.
I have a friend who just had a baby, the baby was 6 weeks early, she felt sick went to the doctor and realized her blood pressure was 190/110, so they had to do a c-section! the baby was 5 pounds and had to stay in the hospital for a month, she had to stay there for a while too.
How far along are you? I am 28 weeks and feeling great, I know that if I take care of myself with a diet, plenty of fluids and lots of rest my baby will be fine and he will more likely be deliverred without inducion. You should talk to your doctor and see which is the best for you. My doctor has walked me through all of this and he has been a great help!

My mother had pregnancy induced hypertention and I was not early...as a matter of fact I was right on time. Don't worry, if you think that you are going into labor they can stop the contractions...I had to do this for two months with my son.

Good Luck and I am sure that everything will be okay.

Alot of factors are involved with whether you have a premature baby or not. I'd say your chances are higher since you have the hypertention, but that doesn't gaurantee 100% you'll have a premature baby.

I would just talk to your doctor about it. See if there's anything they can recommend to help with keeping you pregnant until you are full term. Also I'm sure they'd be able to help with any concerns you have and would be able to let you know what percent there is that your baby will be premature. Good luck and God bless and I hope your baby is happy and healthy :-)

My friend had the same thing with her first child and her daughter was just fine. Although she was only 5lbs but she was out of the hospital in 3 days. And a pretty healthy 6 year old now.
(that was when they kept you in the hospital after giving birth)

I hope the best for you that your baby is healthy, I know its scary when you can't do anything for your baby.

If your scared talk to your DR maybe she'll explain more to you.

The extra untimely the little one the fewer the hazard of survival. If born at eight months a little one won't even want a NICU keep, however at 7 months they are going to. She have to were considering it the fallacious manner- and you're proper- daily counts.

You really need to get pre-natal care and talk to your doctor.

He will help you come to term

I would suggest you talk to your dr about it... They should have told you something about it when you were diagnosed... but any concerns you have, talk to them.
