For 20 as a percentage of 40, it is (fairly obviously) 50%, but to get it you do 20 divided by 40, and then multiply the answer by 100.
Thus for 25, its 25 divided by 40 times 100 = 62.5

When you do a percentage question, you call the starting point or thing that represents a whole 100%.
40 represents 100%
20 represents 100 x 20/40 %
........(you copy the 100 above, multiply by the 20 (whose percentage you're trying to find) and divide by the 40 which represents 100%.
20 represents 100 x 1/2 %
20 represents 50%
SECOND PART
40 represents 100%
25 represents 100 x 25/40 %
........................100 x 5/8 %
25 represents 62.5%
Always make the original value at each stage of the sum represent 100%

20 as a percentage of 40 is half or 50%
Type 20 divide by 40 into a calculator and you will get 0.5
Multiply by 100 and 0.5 will become 50 - this is your percentage.
25 divide by 40 gives a slightly larger decimal answer of 0.625.
Multiply by 100 to get 62.5 this is your percentage of 62.5%

Find out what 10% is (10% of 40 must be 4).
20% must be 2 lots of 10%(4).
2 lots of 4 is 8.
25% would be 2 1/2 lots of 4...that is 10.
Example 10% of 90 is 9 so 20% of 90 must be 18.
