I think that gangs do what they do because it all starts off with survival like- I need food I need shelter etc... then you find people in the streets who are all in the same situation, kinda like sex addicts and drug addicts they all can relate to eachother so they come together but the only way you can survive when you are poor and a minority you have to rob people, kill people, sell drugs-to your own people cuz the white people on drugs keep it on the down low, and this happens because of racism, so you do all of this stuff either get arrested, oppressed or killed, then when you get out of jail you have those few that try to get it together and put up with be oppressed, then you have the majority who go right back to what they know, and in the meantime, the women get oppressed by these men who still feel they need to be powerful when everything else has been working against them, any way it is a cycle, if i confused you email me and let me know,

Most lack family stucture, so they get a convoluted family structure by being in a gang...regardless if it is negative or not.

Young men want to fit in and have friends even if it means getting beat up in a innitation thing. Sometimes for protection.

It's generational. They get no recognition for anything so they act out for negative public attention which gives them peer accolades.
