No it's best to keep them on formula until they are a year old.
Before they are a year, their stomachs can't handle the milk and it can cause serious problems if they are given milk before the age of 1. Formula also has a lot of minerals and vitamins in it that regular milk does not. Those vitamins and minerals are important to their health which is why they need to be on formula until at least a year. I hope that helps a bit :-)

Your baby is 10 months old...2 months away from being a year old. Put him on whole milk. He'll be fine. All that mumbo jumbo about milk allergies is true, but only if allergies normally run in your family. I actually had to put my 3 month old on whole milk because every formula caused him to break out, yes even the soy. We tried them all. Doctor actually suggested the whole milk for him. i was on whole milk from 2 months old. my husband from 3 months old, my sister from 2 months old...you get the point. Every baby is different. Why generlize them? Not to mention once again yours is 2 months away from being a year old. People buy into so much with doctors, and the truth is all these doctors say different things. You know your baby.

You know what....forget what everyone else says. You alone know what is best for your baby, if you have any concerns ask your baby's doctor. I asked my Pediatrician about it when my son was 10 months old and he said that it was fine. Only because Aiden (my son) weighed 26 pounds and was no longer on a bottle. He simply refused to drink from a bottle and preferred the sippy cup. He was eating regular table foods and was advanced for his age as far as eating was concerned. He did fine on it. I gave him 4 ounces at a time 3 times a day with meals and at snacktimes, I gave him Juice. He has done great with it and even goes longer in between feedings. Of course if you see changes that may suggest allergy to the milk stop giving it to him. I also suggest starting baby off with Soy milk if you suspect ANY kind of lactose intolorance. Also do be careful with the amount that you give your baby for the first few days as dairy can cause constipation...(thats why you give them juice between meals)

What i was told by my son's dr. is to wait until he is 1-yr old...
And when you are transitioning:
If the baby drinks 4 ounces of milk (for example)
-week 1 3ounces formula+1 ounce of milk
-week2 2ounces formula+ 2 ounces milk
-week3 1 ounce formula + 3 ounces milk
-week 4 4 ounces of milk
But ask your doctor.... your baby might be ready for it.

WHOLE MILK is fine. The babies need the fat and cholesterol for brain development! My pediatrician put my kids on whole milk at 9 months old. Just switch slowly. . .one oz milk, 7 oz formula for a day, then 2 oz milk, 6 oz for for another day, and on and on until it's 8 oz milk.

No.
Their tummies can not digest the lactose in the milk. Which is why they say to use the formula. Plus, baby formula in vitamin enriched.

No, I think it contributes to milk allergies and also doesn't have all the vitamins and minerals of formula.

No. Babies also need the fat and other nutrients in formula to help in their brain development. YOu should not cheap-out. Use formula until he is one.
