is there a way to find someones arrest record and/or criminal on-line free of charge???

WELL...I dont know where you are but i google "wisconsin court access" and it takes me to a website and i can check on whoever i want...i do it almost everyday...it comes in handy because i just checked up on a potential babysitter and she had child abuse on her record! but not everything will me on there...sometimes they dont put it on the site...but try googling "whatever state court access"

I've been doing background checks and records searches online for years, as it is part of my business. I am a former detective, and currently a professional private investigator by trade. What I can tell you is this: You cannot obtain these records for free. You simply cannot. For every service provided online, there is typically either a one time cost, or a fee you pay every single month. Some services are better than others.

Some more expensive, some less. In my line of work, I am signed up for a service where I am billed monthly. For a one time fee, they are by far the best, cheapest, and most thorough service available. Arrest records and criminal proceedings are public record, you just need to contact the appropriate arresting unit and the corresponding court for that arrest. Most cities, counties and states have web-sites to search thru the records.

I just went on-line for Clay County, MO and found the arrest record and docket entries for the court hearings on a friend of mine. It took less then 10 minutes.

I used that website http://www.echeck.pcti-system.com .. the one referenced by that detective guy. I found exactly what I was looking for. So much for Mr Right, or rather Mr Convicted Felon with 2 Liens against him totaling over 30,000$ and an ex-wife I never knew about!! Thank God I found out the truth before it was too late. We were almost engaged!!

You can look up your local police office's web site for your state or look up the department of corrections, and simply type in their name.
