I believe, that you are looking for amoeba.
Amoeba's are from the kingdom: Zooplankton, which has animal like characteristics. The Amoeba, in particular, belongs to the phylum: sarcodina which have characteristics such as having a coinceboid shape (no shape), and being able to flow by extending it's cell membrane to form false feet (pseudopod).
But, there are still several others that can be classified in this category: Paramecium cordatum (from the phylum: ciliophora), Trypanosoma gambiensis (from the phylum: mastigophora), and Plasmodium vivox (from the phylum: sporozoa)
As you see, there is more then one choice in this matter.
Hope this helps!

Animals are eukaryotic and usually multicellular which separates them from bacteria and most protists. Although, there is the Myxozoa, which are a group of microscopic, single-celled, parasitic animals.

None, one of the criteria for an organism to be classified in the Animal Kingdom is that it be multicellular.

One-celled organisms are considered animals due to their metabolism. The metabolic needs and mechanisms of one-celled organisms (as in, bacteria, etc) are much more similar to ours (as in, cellular respiration) than they are to plants (photosynthesis). Scientists are really just comparing us to them on a very micro-level.

While it is true that in order to be part of the animal kingdom, you have to be multicellular, there is an informal group of protists (which are unicellular) called protozoans, which means "first animals." They can be distinguished from the other protists based on their modes of nutrition. Protozoans are ingestive heterotrophs, meaning that they have to eat their food like we do. This is opposed to the other kinds of protists, like photosynthetic protists (algae) or fungus-like protists (slime molds).
