DIDN'T BUSH DECLARED VICTORY FEW YEARS AGO??? So is that another one of his many BS Bush fed us and u still support Bush/Chaney and his oil buddies???
I mean there's no end in sight and every day someone is getting killed over there, our soldiers and the innocent Iraqis. So not only are we losing the war, it's another Vietnam in a smaller scale, isn't it?
The way we're going over there, I say in about another 5 years, at least10 thousand of our US soldiers will have died, not to mention about 300 thousands of Iraqis.

To: joevette, looking at what's going on now. I don't know if we'd be worst off if we didn't invade Iraq. I have to say if there's a betting table and to believe or not what Saddam said to, I believe it was Dateline or something but it was for certain Walter Cronkite, he said in translation "We are not your enemy." Saddam was very cordial when he was being interview. He also said later on after he got captured that the reason he pretended to be developing Nuke was so he could intimidate the Iran, our real enemy. So we made a big blunder in invading the Iraq when we should've been patient and invaded the Iran instead. And we wouldn't have all the terrorists because Arabs would have supported our invasion. Now the Arabs are teaming up with Iran!!! What a freaking blunder Sr. and Jr. Bush did for us. I believe this is the beginning of a major hatred toward Americans to come.

First I hated Clinton but I was a Clinton supporter too because I am American and he was my elected president. I served in our military and he was my Commander in Chief..... No it is not Vietnam all over again but it could go that way if the media doesn't stop politicizing the whole war. People die in war they all ways have and they probably always will that is how war is. The # of deaths for this war has been very small and the only to beat terrorism is to face it head on. I do not like Bushes timing for the invasion but it was needed. Saddam would have helped terrorist cells get the weapons they wanted to strike the US. Do not give me the old story of how he and Bin Laden did not like each other because Bin Laden and Hezbollah did not like each other either but to git US interest they did join forces. We are the extremist's most hated enemy and we were even before this war. Check the facts and stop making this about politics.

Yeah Sharp Marble is Right Here./..Here is the Purpose....Also Vietnam was not a war...It was a tupperware party in the Jungle and we had guns and stuff!!!!.........>>>>>>>>>
We were sent to invade a nation because it was a direct threat to the American people, or to the world, or harbored terrorists, or was involved in the September 11 attacks, or received weapons-grade uranium from Niger, or had mobile weapons labs, or WMD, or had a need to be liberated, or we needed to establish a democracy, or stop an insurgency, or stop a civil war we created that can’t be called a civil war even though it is. Something like that...Anyway We can make our purpose up later i guess...

Evidently you were not living during the Vietnam War or you would know there are few similarities. One similarity of both is that the media takes the side of the enemy.

Not Vietnam, not even close. More people died in one Us city than over there. Violence sells, good things and the fact that only three towns are very bad. Most are doing great but this makes for boring news and is not spoken about.

In case you didn't notice, your Dem leaders and the ultra-liberal NY Times are now saying that the U.S. must not pull out of Iraq so quickly.
One of them, I'll leave it up to you to research, has even said that we should be ramping up troop involvement in Iraq "to forestall an all-out civil war"...
Go figure.

no-vietnam was not a war, number one and two, there was a purpose (like it or not) when we first went into Iraq. There was no purpose for vietnam. There will also be a new administration in two years b/c Bush isn't eligible to run again anyway.
