I'm an American, and I think it's terribly silly. Nudity isn't ok, but shows like CSI that show gruesome murders and dead bodies are just fine.
I saw a show yesterday about infants. While the mother was changing diapers, the baby's bottom was pixellated. I think that we're ridiculous about all of it.

do you remember the Janet Jackson saga? FFS, if some chic had a wardrobe malfunction at an ozzie footy match and a nipple popped out, first the guys would rate her from 1 to 10 then ask for the other nipple....amazes me, you can blow up anything, shoot anyone, etc but god forebid you show a nipple in the US....

The american people (I'm One) pixelate the nipples on the shows because here (in America) have more old fashioned customs; so the TV autorities don't give us permission so have our free minds, our head blound off!!!; but we have use our imagination, jaja

I agree but like everything where does it stop . at nipples bare butt or more? Sex on tv I have small kids there is Pay tv if you want to see naked people I am ok with that

Every generation has it. It use to the ankle that was taboo, then the neck, in China the feet, some places the wrist, now its the nipple. AND ONLY the nipple we cover up it seems.

It's a contrast of cultures. In europe and the rest of the world violence is a pretty big deal but in America, it's sometimes laughable, aka kill bill. But over here we seem to have a strong akwardness towards sex and the rest of the world doesn't seem to. Perhaps it's our puritin colonists who inspired this idea.
