Not really. They hardly ever got past the first round. I mean now that they have competition in the Mets they didn't even make the playoffs. I don't like the Braves for several reasons. The main reason is Chipper Jones. He really gets on my nerves. The man makes millions but yet he can't play for little things for example his toe hurts. Johnny Damon played with a broken toe. I think Chipper is just a spoiled babied player.
14 straight titles is impressive but not when you really look at how far they actually go...NOWHERE!

Absolutely they earned them.
They did it with different key players over the years. No one else has ever won 14 straight anything, in any sport... 14 years is about ten years longer than the average career of a major league player. Smoltz, Glavine and Maddux are three of the all time great pitchers, and all three will probably be Hall of Famers.
Just because a team wins division titles but loses in the playoffs, doesn't mean that they didn't 'deserve' the division titles they won.
Besides, it's not the Braves' fault that the rest of the teams in the NL East were so inept during that period.
Saying the Braves didn't 'deserve' the division titles they won is exactly the same as saying that the Tigers didn't deserve the A.L. pennant this year because they choked in the World Series... makes no sense...right Georgie?
Every team that wins a division title deserves it. Now, if you're asking 'do wild card teams deserve to make the playoffs', my answer to that would be 'no'.
Heck, even in 2000, when the Mets beat the Braves in the playoffs, the Braves still won the division. The Mets went to the World Series, did they suck?
When whatever team you like wins 14 division titles in a row, then you can talk.
As for Montreal getting 'jobbed' in 1994, give me a break... the Expos had a 30 year history of playing sorry *** baseball, with the exception of a couple of years, but why should we believe that 1994 was THE year they would have won it all? They never did it before, never did it since.

Of course they won the titles. And to set the record straight, it was 11 straight, from 1995-2005 and included 3 NL pennants (1995, 1996, 1999)and one World Series (1995)Often their records where among the best won/loss records for those years. Their post season collapses were prolific, however. You play 162 games and you win your division. But the playoff are a short series, either best of 5 or 7 and they only won one ring.
You can't blame it on injury or bad breaks or anything else but baseball. It's an opportunistic game and the opportunities were either taken by the other teams or missed by the Braves. But at least they got there.

Considering that they had the best record in the whole National League during 9 of those 14 seasons, I think you can hardly blame their success on a weak division. And on 5 of those occaions, the team finishing behind the Braves in their division had enough wins to have finished first in one of the other divisions. So, I guess I'd say that they earned those titles, and that your generalizations about the level of play in their division(s) are incorrect.
As for their playoff performance, they made it to four World Series and won it in 1995. I'm sure their fans would have liked to see more titles, but the playoffs are very much a crapshoot. To think that the best team over a 162-game schedule is always going to win in a seven-game series is just plain dumb, and it's that kind of thinking that had so many "experts" looking like fools for predicting a Mets-Yankees World Series this year.
The Braves earned all of those titles, some years more than others. Did they have a weak division some years? Yes, but they also had incredibly hard ones, like the season where they had to win 104 games just to beat the Giants by a single game. To dismiss their run because of a lack of competition is not only unfair, but also not based on the reality of what they accomplished.

The Braves earned each and every one, think about it 14 straight division crowns, thats unheard of in this day and age.Unless your the Yankees.Their lack of sucess in the Fall Classic just goes to show you how hard it is to Win a WS title.I think they probably had the "so-called" best team 5 or 6 years but only won 1 WS.

one project human beings do not comprehend about the Buffalo charges is they were between the perfect communities to ever be assembled. human beings evaluate them a foul crew because they "lost 4 without delay large Bowls," yet no different crew has even been to 4 without delay large Bowls, so attending to that factor is fantastic. same for the Braves. that is an magnificent streak, and no different crew in any recreation has ruled their branch contained in the way that the Braves have. Atlanta has ruled the nationwide League to boot. The Braves went to 5 global sequence from 1991 to 1999 -- really 3 sequence for the period of that factor period did not contain the Braves. it fairly is fantastic. The argument for a weak NL East crumbles like a cookie once you look at who has represented the NL contained in the global sequence contained in the previous various years. contained in the 12 global sequence from 1991 to 2003 ('ninety 4 WS replaced into cancelled as a results of strike), the NL East has despatched a crew to the global sequence 9 of those 12 cases!! Atlanta has lengthy gone to 5, the Marlins 2, and the Phillies and Mets one each and each and every. Now how can a branch be weak even as they look to keep sending communities to the sequence each and each and every 3 hundred and sixty 5 days? that's a disgrace that the Braves hadn't gained a pair extra earrings, or they may be seen between the most ideal events dynasties in historic previous, yet they bumped into the Yankees in 1996 and 1998, a crew that many evaluate to be between the perfect Yankee communities ever. The Braves accomplishment isn't given adequate credits, probable because Atlanta isn't a significant media market like ny or l. a., yet I evaluate this to be between the perfect runs in baseball historic previous.

Of course they earned it. They had competition and they beat them. Pretty simple stuff. Craig S' explanation hits the nail on the head so I'll stop here.
As an aside, why are most of these answers getting a thumbs down? I have a feeling there's a disgruntled person out there! :-)

Well, they did win more games than the other teams in their division. That means they earned it.

They never won 14 in a row. It's a complete fallacy. Montreal got jobbed in 1994 and somehow the strike yr gets dismissed. Anyway, div. titles are bogus. The Hotlanta Blands are playoff chokers. No wonder they can't sell out playoff games.
