I ate a lot and all time I was serviced by male waiters. Is it something specific for India, and why?

because men with no shame like to do "stuff" to them practically ruining their life!!..also its abt the parents reputation...

Well may be that the Hotels u visited would have more Man Waiters. But actually if you visit top Star hotels their u will definately find Waitress.
Also in small hotel if woman is working their may be a case of sexual abuse, harassment, teasing etc. as the Woman Security in India not up the mark for the safety of the womans.

I am in Canada so I can answer from my perspective here only.I would think that if you see a man waiter in a restaurant that people might think it is a more formal dining restaurant than a simple restaurant. Male waiter are sometimes hired for banquets only and present a more "richer , finer" presentation to some people.
Female waitresses seem to be more casual and more "here's your food"....leave a tip please.....I need to money....I don't make much in salary.
Cheaper restaurants hire cheaper wage people. Men tend to like to make a good wage therefore they tend to work for better paying restaurants.

Who says so.
There are restaurants in Tamil Nadu on
national highways, where you have small
restaurants, where females work like
waiters.
There are many restaurants in Goa, where
females are working as waiters.
In Kolkatas' road side Dhabas, you can
see female waiters, serving.
In Himachal Pradesh, in rural areas,
the restaurants are managed by females
only.

A genuine answer can be that be that lovely girls in India don't know cooking, and nobody appoints the remaining ones in restaurants.

Interesting question. Indian restaurants in North America have female servers, so it doesn't appear to be anything cultural. Perhaps it's just local custom?

maybe the men are stealing the jobs of the female and willing to feed them letting them be hsewives, or it cld be the people of India are perverts that Ladies are keeping away from such jobs, ofcoz the hardkaurs will go to prostitutions or social escorting instead of being waitress

it is a question of security for women. Indian male cannot be trusted to behave. Read about Jessica lall murder case you will understand.

It is just supply and demand.
Traditionally men are doing this jobs, there is lot of unemployment in India.
There are some you just did not see them. Just like cats(your other Q?).
