If the Texas panhandle was a state on its own, from Odessa/Midland all the way up to Borger, it would win hands down. Flat, dusty, treeless, unmercifully hot in summer with no large body of water, it truly is hell on this earth. Oklahoma is a close second. The gas burnoff from the oil fields in the Texas panhandle and west Oklahoma stinks beyond belief too. These two places are just plain butt ugly all the way around!

People are going to hate me for this but Wyoming. You can only see so much red dirt before you start to lose your mind. And driving through it on the highway is like the scenic trailer parks of America tour.
Yes the Tetons are pretty and all but there's only a little Teton and hours and hours of ugly, windy red dirt. And good luck finding a decent radio station, too.
