I'm going on a trip next sunday with people I don't know,what do you say? I don't want to being too silly and ridiculous but nor too serious and boring

Just be yourself. we have all been there where you try and make an impression and end up making a fool of yourself by overcompensating and trying very hard. Now heres what I do in a new place to break the ice. just make a comment say when you go to pick up the food. just say so whats thsi then ... you are sure to get a reply. or " oh this looks good". or even something like blimy that looks like something out of a horrer movie..... blah blah .. it works for me... maybe it will work for you. try it .. whats qorst that can happen. ..... suddenly I have this image of Dr Pepper

No matter how uncomfortable you feel you must laugh at everything you think is funny, but only if you think it is. Feel free to tell short stories/anecdotes about things that relate to the conversation or what is going on. Ask the people questions about there lives and be interested in it, i.e. "do you have any children" >follow up with questions about that "oh, how old, what're they into these days?" and round out the conversation with a statement about their answers that show that you were interested in what they said and that you related a little bit>"That's really great. Karate is such a good activity for kids, lots of exercise and discipline. I hope "Sarah" keeps going with that, it's really rewarding".

I FEEL YOU I USUALLY JUST LAY BACK IN THE CUT FOR A MINUTE OR TWO AND SEE HOW EVERYBODY ELSE'S VIBE IS YOU KNOW ARE THEY TALKATIVE ARE THEY SILLY OR SERIOUS YOU KNOW AND I JUST USUALLY BE MYSELF WITH IN THAT IF THERE SILLY PEOPLE I'LL LET A LITTLE OF MY SILLY SIDE COME OUT IF THERE SERIOUS THEN MY EDUCATED SIDE COMES OUT NO MATTER WHAT I'M ME THAT'S THE EASIEST THING TO BE IS YOURSELF JUST FEEL THEM OUT FIRST THEN LET THEM GET A CHANCE TO KNOW YOU IF YOUR TO STANDOFFISH THEN PEOPLE MAY GET THE WRONG IDEA.
