On the prompt screen when you were asked, if you want to run or save this file, what was the destination folder? The standard destination folder for XP operating systems is the my documents folder. Click on start, then my documents, the program you download it should be in this folder. If it's not located here. Click on start, then search, in the search box, type IE7, click search all files and folders, then run. Good luck!

I dunno, but thought it might help to mention, I downloaded it without any problems --just clicked "Download" or whatever, about the same as downloading anything. I didn't do anything special or unusual. The new version does take some getting used to, and I understand the earlier answer who said that ie7 is crap and advised staying with version 6. I've been tempted to do that, but am slowly getting used to ie7. The new version does have some new features, & I haven't learned what they all are, yet. I guess you know, you can "Search for Questions" here on Yahoo! Questions & Answers and find some Qs&As from other people, on the same subject. Some of those might be helpful. I think I'll stick with the new version, at least for a while. Good luck.

The problem might be that you selected to Open IE7 when downloading, instead of Save.
Open will download the software into a temp folder and run it when the download is complete. The problem comes in when you cancel the installation -- it is very hard to find the downloaded file in the Temp folder.
I always choose to save a download and then manually open it from the desktop.

I agree with the comment that IE7 is crap. I downloaded it and got it to run by hitting the Run button after saving, but wish I hadn't.
It's a bigger program than its predecessor and takes longer to start up and run. They've gone for quite big changes in the way you use it and frankly have not improved it.

umm ... can't you pick a location where you download it to? and yes, it is most likely in your temp folder.
