Yes they are. Unused parts of slaughtered animals are boiled down (rendered) for the tallow--concentrated fat--that is used in many soaps. Protein from bones and hoofs is used to make glue. Also, gelatin used in food (Jello, or jelly if you are from the UK) is produced from animal feet and hooves, most often pigs' feet.

The traditional find of soap was an accident. Over a fire the animals that were skewed for roasting, revolved on a spit. It was for feeding the camp or village etc. The individuals name that made the discovery is not available to me right now, but the popular mechanics for kids featured the program on biodeisal and its by product was glycerin soap. The segway entered into the history of soap making. The basics were carbon in the ashes from the wood, fat from the animal dripping onto the ashes, and water caused the foaming to occur, making soap. To best of my knowledge, animals are not needed to make soap.
I can't be much help for the glue, Sorry.

Soap is made from fat and sodium hydroxide(or potassium hydroxide for softer soap). It can be animl fat, but plant oils can be used too.
Detergents are made from large alcohols and sodium hydroxide.
These can come from petroleum.
Glue is made from dead bodies of animals or from outdated milk.depending on the type of glue.
No sacrifised animals
