The plan was to get defense contractors billions of dollars in work and to sneak millions of barrels of oil out of the country.

That plan has worked so far.

Cheney's 400,000 shares of Haliburton stock have increased in value by 500% in the last three years.

DUH

There is no exit strategy because the Pentagon has always planned on keeping Iraq as a permanent overseas base.

When are the troops in Germany coming home WWII was 60 years ago???

Good luck to you!

Hopefully something intelligent will be worked out shortly, I don't expect much really, but hopefully something good will happen for everyone.

I dont think we even had an exit strategy in the beginning I think the people in charge just planned to "wing it" its the same strategy Bush has adopted throughout many other important portions of his life.

Rumsfeld, and pretty much the rest of the Bush Administration planned all this, more or less. We didn't have or are planning on obtaining an exit strategy because our political officials were and are too blinded at the U.S. being a superpower that they believe that we can do anythign and get away with it, "because we spread freedom and democracy to people around the world" Newsflash, a bunch of innocent people dyin gin the streets everyday due to terrorists that weren't originally allowed in the country isn't freedom.

ummm exit strategy? there wasn't even a strategy to win! wait the strategy according to our president was to declare victory! remember "Mission Accomplished"

anyway the people who planned this are donald rumsfeld and "acting" president george w bush. they are idiots. that's obvious. any fool could read the art of war and tell we were going to lose this war from the start.

we had to have a viable intelligent leader in the first place! we did not have that. how were we goin to win w/o that most important aspect. there are other signs we were going to lose. but read that book. the art of war by sun tzu. you will see what i am talking about. it's probably one of the most influential books in the world after the bible.

You can't plan everything, especially in war, which is about observation and reaction. Granted...they should have had an idea of how they were going to get out.

Personally, I think now would be a good time to get out. There might be civil unrest there, but it will wither and die soon enough.

Bush, Rumsfeld, Cheney.

Their exit strategy is a 2-term limit (2008).

Wait, you mean your exit strategy? When is your tour up?

And therein lies the joke. Everyone thinks its up to the dems now to decide this, when in fact that decsion still lies with Bush himself.

Their exit strategy for you is that you stay there for as long as Bush's masters (China, Israel, etc.) want you to. Take it up with Olmert, 'cause if wants bush to take the US army out, then Bush probably will...

How did we lose 6 more yesterday? I don't get it. Major combat operations in Iraq are over. Mission Accomplished.
