H3O is not quite the complete formula.
In solutions of acids there are hydrogen ions H+ and these are strongly attracted to water H2O to give a hydrated hydrogen ion H3O+ (sometimes called the hydroxonium ion)

H3O is another way to name the acid ion...It is called Hydronium ion, and is associated with Acids. It can be interchangeable with H+, which is the other acid ion.
H3O is usually used to come into Equilibrium with water.
H3O <-->H2O + H+ acidifying water.
