The 90s were an interesting time. There was the sugarsweet pop of NSync and the Backstreet Boys an the end of the decade, but it began with new hip hop like LL Cool J, Salt N Pepa, Heavy D and the Boyz and grunge music like Alice in Chains, Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins. It was really a decade of new genres, with hip hop taking form, grunge rock shaping the future of rock, and dance/trance/electronica becoming its own.
