I thought it was hilarious. I'm still somewhat surprised at the significant number of people that it offensive-- I interpreted it as a humorous commentary on Americans, not a criticism of eastern Europe. The movie demonstrates America's ignorance of other cultures and world circumstances. I think most people are missing the message of the movie. Sacha is making fun of Americans, which is why we can laugh at it.

The way I see it, if this is the type of comedy that the audiences are going for, then I am SO glad I do NOT get it.
Ever since those horrible American Pie movies, Will Farrel, Adam Sandler, Ben Stiller, Rob Schneider, Vince Vaughn, Owen Wilson, and the Wayan brothers and idiots like them, the style of comedy has plummeted sharply.
I still prefer Eddie Murphy, Richard Pryor, Bill Murry and the old school comedy guys to these wannabes.

I liked Ali G a lot, but with Borat, I think he's being mean-spirited. Now if he does that to annoying/obnoxious/mean people, then I dont really care, but if he does it to nice people, then he's being a jerk and to me it's not funny.
I should note that I didnt see the entire movie, just that extensive TV promo they did on Comedy Central (which had scenes from the movie -- which I dont think I'll see!)

And I mean the actual definition of "literally." I was lucky enough to catch an advanced screening and I wish I could see it 100 more times.
It's hilarious. It's offensive. It's actually pretty smart as well. Sacha Cohen is so ridiculously consistent and never seems to break character, even when he turns an entire rodeo against him in less than 5 minutes.
I really don't want to speak anymore of the film, because part of the beauty of it is being surprised by what you see on the screen. I only hope they don't edit the hell out of it, because it really was a joy to see as it was.

great humorous! people ought to study to laugh at themselves, stereotypes are real. this is not something incorrect if people have prejudices or fake perspectives approximately others, this is only a human element to achieve this. If no person had those humorous concepts, the international could be a monotonous place. The issues that have been mentioned interior the action picture, even regardless of the undeniable fact that irreverent, are very precise. i think of particularly of attempting to close off the fact, people ought to take a nearer look at themselves and others around them.
