I would slow things down. I have a friend who is a great dribbler, but many times he tries to do too much and goes 100 mph. Dont always look to beat your defender with the dribble. Protect the ball and make smart passes. Use your dribbling skills as a weapon, but dont always break out the skills. If you watch the good dribblers, for instance Iverson. He wont break players ankles all the time, sometimes he will do simple old school dribbling, like just with one hand nothing fancy. He will then break out a good move. The defenders never know when it is coming and that makes it much harder to defend. Use your skills wisely and they will be much more effective when you finally use them. Ball possession is key in b-ball so make sure you are doing the smart thing instead of trying to make your defender look like a fool all the time.

Same thing happened to me. It's what happens when you stop playing ball regularly (say, in high school). Then you go to college (to study and not play ball) or you begin a job. One day you play a pickup game and realize, what happended.
Like everyone says you just have to practice. Also concentrate on what you can do, those skills that rely on hustle and heart more than skill. My shooting, ball handling, and passing still aren't great, but in the meantime I've become the best rebounder and defensive player in my weekly game, so I feel I'm still contributing to my team.

I think your problem might be concentration. Keep your head in the game, and don't let anyone distract you from doing what you do. Just concentrate, and it will all work out. If you seem to have troubles in offense, back that up with solid Defense.

Slow down and stay under control. Also, keep your head up while your dribbling. When you practice, dribble up and down the court with your eyes closed, switching hands. Then go faster and faster.

Sounds to me like you've been playing against somebody whose defense is a hell of a lot better than your offense

it won't improve overnight. and i know it's hard, but it takes a lot of practice. practice your dribbling skills everyday, even after games and practices, and you will notice MAJOR improvement. best of luck in your game.
