christmas presents...?

how many real present should i get, like for only my closest friends or who. and what should i get for people that are my friends but not as close and i dont want to get a real big present for?

Make something thoughtful for your friends, it doesn't have to be expensive, and for not so close friends, get them something like a small home made thing

Think of your family and closest friends first. Plan to get them a really nice gift. Take the time to pick out something you know they will appreciate.

If there are people who are friends, but not really close friends, keep the gift simple and minimal. You might even want to talk to co-workers (if you are not particularly close, just work with them) about not buying gifts for everyone and doing a "secret santa" where you draw names from a hat--everyone gets only one gift to buy that way and with that, you could impose a rule--nothing over $20.00 People should understand, as most people are also trying to keep expenses down.

Or if you can not afford gifts for everyone of your friends, just don't give a gift to anyone who is not a close friend. Give a card with a small handmade ornament or a small trinket attached to the card.

If it is someone who normally exchanges gifts with you and you know they will get you a gift, then you will need to talk with them about this ahead of time. Tell them that you do not want to exchange gifts for financial reasons.

I think that you should get the closest friend one big gift each. Put some thought into it and do a gift basket filled with their favorite things or do gift cards. You can do the giftcards for anyone. Just change the amount. Think about something they have mentioned wanting all year. For women, gift certificates for a manicure and pedicure are always nice.

That really just depends on how you feel and what your financial standing is. I would buy your family nice gifts, and talk to your close friends to find out if they are planning on exchanging gifts. you will know your family and friends well enough to decide what to get them, but as for acquaintances I would stick to non personal things like candy or movie passes, gift cards for a small amount.

its hard to narrow it down sometimes that's why i only buy for my two best friends. I'll either get an article of clothing, i've gotten hat/scarf/glove sets, cds or movies... that sorta thing. for the rest of them, i get them something smaller like... little snow globes, make little baskets with candies and stuff... that sorta thing so its just a thought but still a nice thought.

I would say it never hurts to ask your closest friends what they want for Christmas. As for "acquaintances", I would say gift certificates/movie passes, that sort of thing, is appropriate.
