talk about their location, the population, the crime rates, which is safer, the climate, what each place has to offer, the kind of lives people live in each area, what most people do for a living in each place, how big each city is, the attractions it has to offer. make two colums and in one label and your first place and under it write what it has to offer. do the same with place #2. then you can write the paper more easily ! good luck!

Contrast papers do just that--Contrast. Talk about the differences in the two places. Like the weather, the people, the things there were to do there (special attractions), geography, things like that. How were those two places different? Did you have a better time at one place than the other? Would you go back to either place? It's basically just a description of the places. Hope this helps.

Contrast papers are typically done two different ways:
In the first layout, each paragraph has a new topic about both spots for example, "My vacations in Niagara Falls and Mexico had vastly different cuisine..." This paragraph will talk about food in Niagara Falls and in Mexico. The next would talk about, say, sight seeing in both locations.
In the second layout choice you simply speak at length about both places. "Niagara Falls is a wonderful place for a vacation..."
And you take one or more paragraphs to talk only about your first vacation before switching over and writing only about your second vacation. "My second vacation was in Mexico which I found very different from Niagara Falls. Mexico's tourist attractions..."

Usually the first layout choice is easiest. I suggest making a quick list down the center of a sheet of paper with topics such as "food," "tourist attractions," "accommodations" and on one side of the list have a column for vacation "a" and on the other side have a column for vacation "b". It only takes a couple of minutes but it really helped me on my contrast paper. Good luck!
