They didn't have a rest..... Barca had very exhausting season, after the World Cup they were on USA Tour and when they came back the season has started!!!!!!! Every player needs some time away from the football, to be with his friends, family.... they didn't have that, so at the beginning of the season they wee tired like it was end of it!!!!!! Plus to many injuries and to much pressure!!!! But they are better every game!!!

I don't personally think that Barcelona are that less weaker than presvious season's, obvisiouly any team would miss the player of Eto't calibre, i just personally think that teams are starting to figure out how to play Barcelona, just don't let them play, don't let them settile into a rythymm and by doing that, you have half a chance of casuing an upset.

In the previous season they've won Champions League and the
Primera. So, they fill like they are unbeatable
The second reason is they are tired.
The most players have had long season ended with World Cup.
besides, Eto'o is injured and Gudjonson didn't justify hopes.
That's it.

I think that the injury of Eto'o was a big problem for them. Moreover you have to consider that many Barca's player this summer performed in Word Championship.
And also Dinho isn't the same of 2005...

Samuel Eto'o enjured and wont play for 6 monthes
Lionel Messi almost not playing except for 15 minutes every match
Deco and Ronaldinho not giving thier true performance..and not playing to their potential...
And Barca is Messi Eto'o deco and Ronaldinho since they are almost not playing
Barcelona is not as strong as previous season

simple.ronaldinho got FIFA player of the year and now hes thinks hes too good to try and play anymore.but barca have sum strong players too like messi and dos santos.they are very young but very talented and i think it wont be long till one of them get it.they are playing great this season its just messi and a few others arent fully fit so they just arent playing as usual.as sonn all the injured players come bakyoull see how good they are.

There is this theory that Rijkaard's assistant, Henk ten Cate was the one who really trained the players to their standard now. And when he left for Ajax this season, the players lost their motivation.

Missing Eto, Guddy just can't perform week after week, that showed at Chelsea, he's a great squad player but thats it, plus Ronny isn't performing, he's fatigued, needs a weel earned break.
