Make yourself pay attention. Ask the teacher questions, challenge yourself.

I would try focusing on the subject itself -- obviously :). I know many people with this problem.........it is often not something that lasts very long, but it can continue through to adulthood (meetings, events, etc.). Try taking the subject at hand, and thinking of the positive things it brings, or could bring to you. If it's mat, for example, think of how getting a good grade could make your parents happy, and can boost up your GPA. After all, I'm not a psychologist, but if I were you, I were talk to your GUIDANCE COUNSELOR. Hope this helps!!

Try to get more interested in the lesson by forcing yourself to raise your hand and ask questions. Maybe you can explain to your teacher you are having trouble concentrating and ask him or her if you could possibly move your chair closer to the front of the room. I wonder if its just this particular classes or all of your classes?

Repeat your teacher's sentences (mentally!), and yes, taking notes would help you focus too. Brief notes, though, or you'll lose the points the teacher is trying to make.

Stimulate the mind, chew on some gum or something. Drink Red Bull.

its very hard to stop yourself from day dreaming...it's not something that you can just make yourself snap out of....if you miss anything important then ask your friends if you could take some notes from them...also try and lower your body temperature because when your warm you tend to not concentrate

Coffee!

Start slow... drink expresso (just because it's allot better than the usual buckets of that dishwasher water they serve)

Read your class books.
