I'm single 25, female , and life gets really lonely sometimes. And sometimes I want to be a child again, since adult life is just too much sometimes, especially since I'm in a big city alone.

Sometimes I even wish I'd be a child again...a foetus...

what's this condition called...what's the psychological term for it (if there is one)...and how can I get help for it?

well i don't really know any psychological terms but i am sure that most of the adults experiences this thing as the grow up?..
well main reason why?..when we were young, we were always loved and being cherished by others, that's because when you are young adults tend to be more lenient and they always describe life to you as simple and green..however as we grow up we have to learn to take care of ourselves, we have to get scolding by our boss and definitely now we see life is not green as it was when you were a kid, well maybe also because you currently have no aim in life..trust me as you get a partner and have children with him, you'll feel that all this is worth is again..besides who wants to work if it is nt for their children?
you be the judge...and enjoy life...live it to the fullest!!!

This is called regression! According to Freud of a particular psychological perspective called psychodynamic regression is when a person acts like or wants to be like a child again! But i think u could link that to depression in your case if ur really getting down about it and and you have to feel sadness for at least 3-4 weeks before its classed as a problem! If that's the case go to the doctor!!

I wouldn't worry too much about this. I'm 23 and I'm also in a big city by myself, actually im in a different country cause im from Ireland. I also would love to be a child again cause you don't have any responsibilities, and you can run around playing and being silly all the time. I think everyone has this.Try not to worry.

There is. I think it's regression. Being a child is much easier than being an adult, so when we can overwhelmed, we may want to return to a state that we were happy and when things were easier. It is a defense mechanism that helps us cope with stress. But it's not good to keep it up, so try going to a psychologist or pychriatrist if you can't find ways to relieved your stress (try to do things that make you happier). They'll help you find out why your are unhappy with your life and will suggest better ways for you to deal with life.

Well lets not worrie about giving it a name.

I think your just a person who is sensitive!

Thats sweet...and really the world is a ugly place..lets face it....
You missing some good people around you! thats all.....find a youth group at a church...and have NICE friends, and they will give you support..
Being alone is just no good for a young person, like yourself......
I myself...dread everyday...till I have woken up, and its real...
Just get some friendship...and then you can have other girls over, and have fun!...
If it gets worse?...then yes you may need to seek help..But I want you to try and get some friends first...o.k....

Wish-itis. Who doesn't wish for the security of having someone to care for us instead of caring for ourselves as adults? We're living in critical times hard to deal with. But kids don't have it so easy anymore either, with peer pressure, predators, crazy hormonal changes.... Embrace adulthood, and once in awhile, kick your shoes off and run barefoot in the park!

Denial of reality. You don't want to face what it is in front of you. Going back to the past or change yourself to be someone else in in denial of reality.

it is normal when you are stressed out and feel emplty.

I dunno, but whatever it is I definitly have it. My fondest memories are from when I was a child and didn't have a care in the world. My mother was still alive, my sister hadn't been born yet, we hadn't moved 12 times so that i still had friends back then... the good old days, and I'm still in highschool. lol
