I reckon we are, because although we all get excited when a Gorilla uses an Abacus, I don't recall them inventing anything like the microwave or TV. Do we get our intelligence from other beings not yet known of?

i think so, maybe another different breed of ape and aliens. Maybe the aliens are the olden day gods that they used to worship in egypt, greece and the like?

Probably not. We share over 98% of our DNA with chimps; that doesn't leave a lot of room for alien DNA.

Not inventing tv isn't a good way to show that someone is not intelligent. Plato, for instance, didn't invent it, but he was plenty smart. To invent something as complicated as the tv, you need a lot of inventions and discoveries to have come first. You need to know how to harness energy, how to make glass tubes, all sorts of things. A gorilla would no more invent a television than an early human would- there's just not enough information there.

Early humans are still smarter than gorillas, sure. The other great apes do invent things, and even pass those inventions along to their kids. However, somehow we got the extra little something that not only made our inventions more complicated, but also enabled us to communicate with a full language about what we learn. They're pretty small changes, sure, but they made a world of difference.

We are not direct descendants of apes. Humans and apes share a common ancestor. And for random6x7who said there isn't room for alien DNA (because we share 98% with apes), you should consider that we also share 40% of our DNA with a banana. But there is no such thing as aliens. This question was posted by a CEO of top corporation to keep the masses pondering meaningless questions, while remaining unaware of there REAL economic position in society. I call for a revolution.

Forget Eve. We all descended from Goriddle Gorilla of The Great Space Coaster. Though, being a puppet, I'm not so sure he had mad abacus skills.

Read the books Forbidden Archeology and the Hidden History of the Human Race By Michael A. Cremo. There are heaps of archaeological findings and evidence that man was more intelligent in all ways millions of years ago and they didn't look like cave man or apes. Go to http://www.stephen-knapp.com for universal truth and Vedic understandings.

Where is the alien DNA to back it up? What are the chances that aliens would have genetic material that is compatible enough, not only to survive hybridisation and become invisibly intermeshed but to make an ape more intelligent in the bargain?

no Humans are a diferent make alltogether, all life is borne to die, in different ways, plants flowers grass ect all live and all feel pain,
some things are here for our enjoyment and to demonstrait the diversity of Gods scientific inventions, Also the trust he has put in man to care for them even though we have to eat from them, wether it be fish meat or greens, if we did not eat anything because we were to scared to kill it, we would all die.Mankind is the ruler of nature for good or for bad,We are trainee gods over the earth to see how we fair.We all know the answer we blew it.

Of course we do. It might be the hardest explanation for mankind to swallow, but its also makes the most sense. We may have eventually attained the intelligence levels we are at now, but it would have been millions, maybe billions of years in the future. Maybe thats what they mean by "sin"... we were living peacefully and ignorantly in the wilderness, until loftier beings then ourselves (aliens) meddled with our evolution, gave us 'knowlege' and our nature has been warlike ever since.

Please, please read Zecharia Sitchen's series The Earth Chronicles, for an absolutely mind-blowing veiw at what might really have happened in our prehistory.

My favorite theory, is one I developed. Life on earth came about when interstellar trailer park trash emptied their septic tank during a visit to primeval earth. The bacteria in the dumped garbage was the source of DNA that eventually evolved into all life on earth, and explains why we have the same number of eyes, limbs and other parts as described in most alien sightings.
