Good question. I think maybe hate is too strong of a word. Extreme dislike seems more fitting. But to answer your quesiton as you asked, I would rather be hated for who I am rather than love for who I am not. I've made a few people dislike me over the years. I am a strong individual and I live by my morals and ethics. In doing so, I share my opinions and thoughts freely. People feel intimidated when I speak truths. Maybe they can't handle the truth and decide it's easier to just "shoot the messanger". That's all well and fine. I won't back down from a good debate and with it, hard feelings sometimes occur. I don't like to lie, I don't pretend to be someone I am not. To get anywhere in society, you must speak up for what you believe it and what is just and fair. I am an easy going person. I live by the creed to harm noone in word or action. It is not my style to act foolish. But I sure am not going to start pretending to be something I'm not, and have people flocking to me telling me I am wonderful and great. That is ludicrious. Sometimes women get a bad rap when they are assertive. We are called the b word daily. Yeah, so what, Let their insecurities build up in themselves. It's no sweat off my back that when I tell the truth that someone becomes mean and vengeful. They're only hurting themselves.

Hated for who I am, it is too much work trying to be someone you are not eventually they will realize they were wrong and hate you more than the person who instantly hates you for being true to yourself ever could.

It's better to be hated for who you are because you have to fulfill your own potential. Living for other people's opinions isn't really a life.

To be hated for who I am. To try to be something different, is to hate yourself. That is the worst thing you can do to yourself.

I've done both. I think it's best to be loved for who you are and to ignore the rest.
