Is the stereotype true - do women really talk more than men do?

I believe women do talk more until they get older. Then walk through any retirement village and the old men are the ones standing around talking all the time .

I think men talk more. When my husband gets with the mechanic or the hay guy, he stands around and gossips for ever.

yes ,yakkety yak,we love to talk,why not?we were shut up for nine months in our mothers belly,men cant get a word in edge wise ,because we looove to talk non stop.from mikhal in israel
