I think you should be asking if a job is really worth it if they DON'T drug test. I would pride myself on working for a company that tested for drugs because then you know that they care about the kind of people they employ. Companies that do not drug test usually wind up with loser employees that can't pass them anyway. Unless you are a loser that can't pass a drug test then why worry about it.

Umm most companys are drug testing now days and the trend is increasing not decreasing. Tobacco has been the hot issue of late (people being fired for smoking at home).
If a company drug tests than so be it. I personally commend them for spending money to ensure they get the employees the want. However most people who do drugs pass these drug tests allt he time and some that are clean fail... unfortunate really.
Really what this all has to do with is employee injury costs. It is proven that an employee that uses illegal drug statistically has a greater chance to be injured on the job. Also missed work days increase dramatically in admited drug users and attendance is one of the most important factors that employers look for.

I believe that all or most of the good jobs require a drug test. These companies have the best benefits and the most chances for advantment, they have their pick of employees, therefore, they do not have to just take anything off the streets. I know that I would not like to work beside someone who is high on drugs because of the fact that he cannot carry his share of the workload and he is a danger to both himself and me. I would not work for a company that does not require a drug test.

Many people who have trouble passing a drug test find it easier making a living spamming message boards with ads for ************* in exchange for making 30 cents an hour.

It's almost certainly more profitable to stay off drugs and get a better paying job that requires a drug test.

I would say yes. If you were about to work with a company that delt with saws and blades running all the time would you want the company to drug test that individual to see if he is clean or would you rather for them not to test and have a person who uses drugs to come in and operate a saw while you are around him????

Sure. I appreciate employers who care enough about customer and worker safety as to prevent drug-addled people from working for them. So drug-testing, pre-hire and post-accident, is a sign of a responsible employer who is trying to keep costs low, hire a healthy workforce and deliver quality.

And the word is spelled "is."

I wish they would drug test for every job. I do not wish to have to deal with druggies in any way. If I knew one worked in a store I would not shop in that store.

I am serious. I think it should be manditory for every job. If you do not wish to stay clean then stay under the bridge but do not come asking for assistance out of my taxes.
