AA is not a real degree, just a recognition of completion of work at a junior college. It signifies 2 years. The BA is a 4 year degree, the last two of which are in upper division courses, mainly in your major and minor areas.

An Associate Degree is equal to the first 2 years of a 4 year college/university.
It is the lowest in rank of academic degrees awarded in the U.S.
A Bachelor's Degree is awarded for a major or course that lasts 4 years of full-time study. But sometimes very ambitious people can get them in less time.

An AA is an Asociate in Arts = total 62 hours
A BA is a Bachelor in Arts = total 123 hours

The BA take more years of formal education and is more prestigious.

The only difference is that A comes before B, therefore, AA comes before BA. The next logical letters in sequence are CA, DA, EA, FA, GA, HA, IA, JA, KA, LA, MA, NA OA, PA, QA, RA, SA, TA, UA, VA, WA, XA, YA, and of course, ZA.
We all know that an AA degree is typically 60 or so credit hours of college, while a BA or BS is typically 120 credit hours. Good luck with that tidbit of information. Nice knowing you.
