I like most genres- excepting country and emo (with emo leading country in the suckiness contest). Reggae and rocksteady are cool... I like SOME metal. Grunge, Alt-Rock, Art-Rock, Psychadelic, Jazz, Classic Rock, old school R&B and rap (sometimes)... hell, even synthpop every once in awhile. My FAVORITES though are punk and post punk, meaning stuff from the VERY late 60s on through the 80s.
Why? Punk because of its rebelliousness and I-don't-give-a-**** attitude. I dunno... It helps me feel a little less inhibited about doing things.
Post-punk because of its creativity. I'm under no delusions that punk was particularly creative as a genre of music (except maybe in lyrics), and it wasn't a bad thing, because in a lot of ways it was about getting back to basics. An anyone-can-do-it sort of thing. The subculture could be, though- creative, I mean. Post punk, on the other hand, was creative both in genre and in culture.

hey there, wazz up?? well, i think we have something incommon here cause am so totally into rock, punk and r&b...!! they are my fave because you can dance with any beat you like, its like a free dance to me, and it totally makes me feel good even when am down!! i also love ashlee but as how much as i love Hilary Duff, Skye Sweetnam, Avril Lavigne and Kelly Clarkson... they rock to the top.. dude!!

Trip Hop - I can get all the fabulous laid back bass of hip hop without the vulgar and demeaning lyrics and because I love female vocalists - trip hop is perfect because it's mostly female singers ---- Portishead!!!

Well i truly believe there are two types of music,good and bad the genre really isn't important to me.i listen to everything from john legend to thirty seconds to mars,outkast to queen so on and so forth.....i think if it makes you feel good just rock out...
