Is anyone a Medical Receptionist or know someone who is? If so..about how much do you/they make a year? How do you enjoy it?

Yes I was a medical receptioist before I went to college. It paid almost $10 an hour and had excellent benefits (Sout Dakota) I really enjoyed the office setting and I would do it again if I had the chance!! You mostly answer phones and make appointments. Dealing with the sick can be a little trying at times, especially when they want to hand you a poop sample, YUCK!! That was the worst part. I mean what do you say when someone hands you some s hit on a stick? Thanks for the peice of s hit, and have a good day or what? They should really have drop boxes for those things....EEEW!

Depends on where you live and what the job offering is. You could try doing a career search for salaries in you area according to experience and skills.
If you like the medical field and the office systems field, you'll enjoy it. If not, you won't. If you're taking the course just to make money, chances are you won't be happy; you should only take up things that interest you, otherwise, no matter what anyone else's experience might be, yours won't be a positive one.
