I think he is referring to an arranged marriage. It's found within certain cultures--based largely on religeon--and it's when parents arrange for their sons and daughters to be married to each other. Alot of time they are allowed to date prior to doing this, but will not marry anyone except the person they were arranged to marry---sometimes the arrangements have even been agreed upon whilst they are infants.

A fixed marriage is an arranged marriage. Just imagine your parents come to you and say... 'You are getting married to this guy!' It does not matter what you think, if you like him or not, if you fell in love.. and you have to accept it because it is your tradition, culture, etc.. is good for the families, who knows... this is still practiced in some Asian cultures. Is your boyfriend having to marry somebody else? Because parents arranged it? For heavens sake! You are in America!!!!!, do you?

A fixed marriage is when someone picks your partner for you and they have no choice in who it is. obviously if he loves you he needs to think about that and so do you.

it is an arranged marriage. in other words you dont get to choose who you are marrying. usually your parents choose for you.
