I'm really not sure. There's no other type of music around which sounds like them - especially their early albums.

I always had them pegged as a dance duo and then my best friend calls them industrial. I think either really. As the guy that's already answered, they sound like the Chemicals. But if you listen to stuff like Aisha, you can definetely hear influences like NIN and Ministry. Don't matter really, they are still cool!

The first album - and I can;t remember what it was called, to my shame - came out at a time when Big Beat was, well, big, and the DIV sound then bears some resemblance to things like the Propellerheads, David Arnold, and others. That said, the DIV sound and atmosphere is a whole lot darker, deeper, and more textured than anything else I heard.

I wouldn't pigeon-hole them (or any other music) if I could avoid it! But I guess you could slot them in with Chemical Brothers if you had to?

Death In Vegas are a hard one to pigeon-hole but given that their cds are always in the Electronica section of music shops, I'd plump for that one.
The song Dirge (from that jeans advert years ago) was appropriately titled as it came across as an electronic dirge but I guess Electronica, Industrial, even a bit of Big Beat is in there...
