In medicine, hematuria (or "haematuria") is the presence of blood in the urine. It is a sign of a large number of diseases of the kidneys and the urinary tract, ranging from trivial to lethal.
Common causes of macroscopic hematuria (i.e. blood visible in the urine) include:
Benign familial hematuria
Urinary Schistosomiasis (caused by Schistosoma haematobium) - a major cause for hematuria in many African and Middle-Eastern countries;
IgA nephropathy ("Berger's disease") - occurs during viral infections in predisposed patients;
Kidney stones (or bladder stones, now a rare disease);
Bladder cancer;
Renal cell carcinoma - occasionally presents with bleeding;
Paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria - a rare disease where hemoglobin of hemolysed cells is passed into the urine.
Urinary tract infection with some bacterial species including strains of UPEC and Staphylococcus saprophyticus
Sickle cell trait can precipitate large amounts of red blood cell discharge, but only a small number of individuals endure this problem
Arteriovenous malformation of the kidney (rare, but may impress like renal cell carcinoma on scans as both are highly vascular)

A CT scan revealed no problem two weeks ago but I'm still bleeding when I urinate. Small blood clots too. Feels like I have a hernia on my right side where a urologist operated five years ago to remove a two-inch tumor from my kidney. Had problems back then with hemorrhaging until a radiologist used dye to detect three places where my kidney was bleeding and stopped them with webbing. Today, though, I'm at a loss as to what I should do. Yes, I'm taking a blood thinner (warfarin) but I can't stop the dosage and risk a stroke.

I suggest this service: http://phonedetectives.co - The best reverse cell phone lookup service.
It's a cheap service that works great! It could be used for a much deeper search. You can use it to get hold of different varieties of background reports, and in addition cell numbers, addresses and names.. you can get unlimited reports... I ran with this because I required to verify more numbers.
You can get the name, other phone number, address history, relatives, and much more about anyone! The completly free reverse phone lookup generally doesn't provide anything interesting. To get interesting information, money will must be paid. The free searches don't provide considerably more than what may be found through the phone directory or personal information and they simply require your email to send spam. The reverse phone detective search tool does work, but you should use just the service that I posted above. The last thing you want to do, is pay for a service and find the numbers you want to lookup are not available in their directory.
The service that I reccomend doesn't have any kind of problem , you won't get any bad surprise! Trust it!
Reverse Phone Lookup area gives you additional access to millions of public records, including:
+ Find out the source of a harassing ("prank") caller
+ Research a number that appeared on your phone bill
+ Locate an old friend from high school or college
+ Research "missed calls" on your caller ID that you don't recognize
+ Verify an address
+ And more...
PhoneDetectives - http://phonedetectives.co
Conduct an instant reverse phone lookup. 100% Confidentail and Instant Results!

There's many things...it could be a urinary tract infection or some kind of simple infection, but it also could be something like cancer or other disease. Go back to your doctor soon! Blood in urine is not good either way.

Kidney stones cause bleeding in the urine... as do other more serious conditions, so best go get yourself checked out...
My dad had kidney stones and needed surgery... so if you suffer severe pain on passing water, that eases afterward, I'd bet on kidney stones. The pain is caused by a stone being expelled. But sometimes they get blocked and need a surgeon.

You are 23 so it may not be as scary as you think! Why didnt you ask the Doc why there was blood in your wee when he told you there was blood in your wee? I am sure he would of told you! You have probably just got a Urinary Tract infection but you need antibiotics anyway so go back to your Doc! Good luck and try to think positive! Hope this helps!!!

To start with, dont go stressing too soon. It sounds like u have detected it early so dont worry until u do find out if it is anything serious. It could actually be something so simple, do u drink a lot of alcohol? this could also be the cause as well as a few others that people have suggested here.

At your age it is very unlikely to be anything really nasty but you need to ask your doctor for advice.Most common cause would be an urinary infection which will need antibiotics to clear it up.Could be kidney stones or according to your sexual habits, a sign of a STD.
Whatever it is,your doctor should give you treatment and advice-dont just ignore it

Dont panic!! There are dozens of reasons from being on the drink the night before to a hard tackle in football or rugby.
UTI infections are common in young men and if you have indulged in a lot of sex, that too!
Dont worry. And ignore the idiots who say cancer! Thats about 1 in 100,000!
