Viagra or sildenafil relaxes muscles and increases blood flow to particular areas of the body

Viagra itself does not provide an erection. In your words, it doesn't make a man "hard". If a man limits the ability to be sexually aroused, viagra will not no anything for him.

Viagra helps in releasing sperm and seminal fluid from the prostate gland, known as ejaculation. When things are working properly, ejaculation is a three-step process: 1.The man becomes sexually aroused. 2.The penis responds by becoming erect. 3. Stimulation of the penis causes ejaculation.

Sildenafil is the active ingredient and it works by stimulating the parasympathetic nervous system since that's the one that's responsible for causing erection. Basically, the parasympathetic nerves release nitric oxide (a vasodilator), this increases the amount of blood in the penile tissue causing the erection.
