I bought a job lot of stuff at auction and the neck chain and matching bracelet were inside a money box. I know what 18k means but what is PLORO.

If it is italian gold or from Mexico the PL stands for GF (gold filled) and oro translated is gold.

Would have loved to come up with a good answer, but Googling PLORO 18k only brings up your question and a whole bunch of junk.

Does PLORO look like a hallmark? A name, a manufacturer?

PL ORO 18k only gives junk and a reference to Polish websites selling gold jewelry. Not likely the chain is from there, right?

www.gold.org gives a lot of info but not what you want. I'll keep looking a bit and see what comes up.

P.S. Wow. Mind spinning. Came across a page in Wikipedia with Ploro in some strange language I could understand but not place. Turns out its Catalan and "Ploro" in catalan means cry, as in "I cry". Unless that helps you, I cannot help.
