I don't walk around in a suit and tie or with a briefcase. And I don't talk alot but for some odd reason most people when they first meet me automatically assume that I am a lawyer why do they assume that and is that a good or bad thing.

If you meet people in a professional setting, everyone assumes everyone else is a lawyer because there are so many. It's not necessarily a bad thing, but the lawyer bashers on here will tell you it is. That is until they need a lawyer. At the very least it means you present yourself as well spoken and intelligent.
