Stereotypes are ideas held by some individuals about members of particular groups, based solely on membership in that group.
eg: accountants are boring, red heads are bad tempered. so u perceive them wrong indeed.

stereotyping is when you look at someone and thing that every one else either in that race, religion, or group are just like the one you know...it could be a good or bad interaction you had with this person, but stereotyping you would assume all are the same...
like all airplane pilots drink a lot before they fly airplanes, would be stereotyping...( or would it )
assuming just because someone is a particular race, that each and everyone in that race eats and does the same thing as the people you know...

it does not work that way and if people do, they are wrong...

Stereotyping is saying all members of a race (or group) are the same in one way or another.

Exp: All Asians are good at Math.
Exp: All African Americans are good dancers.
Exp: All Italians have strong tempers.

I've explained to my younger cousins that it's knowing only one small thing about a person, like they're black or gay or Jewish, and thinking you know *everything* about them. Looking at the group a person's part of, and not what they are as an individual, basically.
