Well, for one, if you were to tell your dad this, he should be able to figure out what you want anyway.

But first of all, yes you can run these games on a laptop, it's just you would want to get a laptop mouse for it, because playing a game with the touchpad is impossible. Believe me, I know..lol. Laptops are good, but they don't tend to last as long as a desktop, but be sure that if you get a laptop, to get one of those laptop fans to go under it, and it should be okay. The biggest problem with laptops wearing out has to do with overheating.

Make sure that whatever PC you get, that you ask for one with a great graphics card and sound card. That is essential to games. You also want a LOT of disk space and RAM.

Ask him for a Intel Pentium Duo Core Processor, 2GB of RAM (no less than 1GB), 120GB Hard Drive (no less than 80GB), a graphics card with at least 126MB of memory (more if possible), and a sound blaster sound card. Make sure he puts a DVD-ROM/CD Burner it at least, even if he doesn't put a DVD Burner in it, a CD Burner comes in handy. Also make sure you have a good Virus Scanner and Spyware Scanner on it too. You can get AVG and Spybot free online, and they are awesome. Other than that, you should be set up to play games.

I hope this helps.

Laptop or PC depends on your choice. Weather you want it to go or not. But whats inside can be great in both. You would need a good processor (I prefer AMD because they dont get as HOT as Intel) a 64-bit would be your best bet for games etc. and would last a long time. You can get big hard drives now days 100gig and up so thats not a prob. Good video card for your games. Nivida has the best and 2gig of Ram would be the bomb, but 1 would do. Make sure you play on BroadBand and NOT dial-up. It's not hard to build a good computer these days if you have the money. Dell has out a few good not too expensive laptops. But they have Intel Duo's in them so you have to get a cooling tray for the bottem. I got my friend one, they work great. I would do a bit of research on this, since you do want the best. But it's not too hard to put together a good machine now days. Thanks to competition and better pricing.
Good Luck ... hope you get what you want.
