i see in myspace and in xanga that every girl is in a beauty contest...because everyone have ultra shining teeth... bronzed skin big house or a mansion... bmw thats the real life there? that girls show that they are all the time shopping ... having fun ...

It's all fake! they are just showing off pretending to be so happy and living a fabolous life, but who knows maybe they are really miserable inside , all that glitters isnt really gold

I don't know where you live but here in Italy a few people are like the ones you described and that's because they can afford it.But most of them are just normal people happy with what they have and can afford.Furthermore I'm not so sure those are as happy as the show to be and that's simply because for the human being the more you have the more you want.

I think it's because of 2 things : Strong pressure & influence from the media , and 2: Lots of peer pressure ( pressure from other girls, the popularity game where everyone wants to fit in). I like nice clothes ( I shop Aeropostale and American Eagle) and to look good but I'm not all eaten up with having to be the unrealistic standard of "perfect" We all need to realize - NO ONE IS PERFECT ! everyone has flaws and shortcomings !!! just be yourself !

No, You cannot group all girls into that category. Not every girl likes to go shopping and not every 16 year old girl gets a BMW for their birthday.

There is nothing wrong with liking pretty things or wanting to look good its about balance and many girls do get out of hand with materialistic needs. I personally like to have nice things but mostly everything I have wasn't bought brand new. I shop at dollar stores and thrift stores but I still look like I bought Armani or Fendi. I just look good. It's also about how you carry your self. If you become stuck up or think your better than that makes you ugly no matter how perfect you try to be.

not only in the us every were in the world i guess because it harder to be a girl considering the media shows that the beautiful girls are the chicks who are skinny as a tooth pick and has perfect hair and make up.....if you had 10 people doing your hair and makeup you look perfect unfortunatley for us normal every day people that is not the case.

Well every teen girl tries to give off the impression that their life is perfect but in reality most teen girls live an average life. They live in an average sized homes and drive decent cars.

no sweety, we aren't all like that. thats just on TV.
in real life i do have blonde hair, but i was born with it. i live in a crappy house and drive a ford. i have no money since i spend it all on bills.
