1. You should definitely be off birth control pills for at least 6 months.
2. Get a check up with your gynecologist- make sure you are "ready to conceive", meaning, you do not have any underlying hormone imbalance at this time. Ask her what vitamins you should start taking BEFORE you conceive, I cant remember the name, but she will tell you. She can also give you the name of the over the counter basal thermometer to buy- this will pinpoint exactly when you are ovulating and therefore have the best chance of conceiving.
3. You want to be healthy as a horse before you conceive- and since you are smart enough to "plan" this greatest experience in life, discuss with your doctor any of your concerns you may have about your health.
4. You didn't mention the father- but if you have a special someone who is going to be the father, it is not a bad idea to make sure he is in good health also.

BEST OF LUCK TO YOU AND YOUR LUCKY LITTLE BABY---YOU WILL MAKE A GREAT MOM!!!!!

If you want a baby it is best to go to the doctor first to check and make sure everything with your health is okay! When you are pregnant you have to go to the doctor at least once a month and every week at the end of your pregnancy! You get poked and prodded more than you can imagine! They do this for the safety of your life and that of your babies! If you think it is BS than you are not ready for a baby!

The BS with doctors prevents you from having screwed up special-ed kids. That BS is as simple as you taking folic acid vitamins and not drinking. The BS also screens for asypmptomatic STDs you might have that'll screw up the baby. It'll spot developmental problems. And the doctors should also be counseling you to help you prepare for childbirth.

I can't believe how selfish this is: to want a child but not to care at all if the baby is born healthy or not.

How old are you? I only ask because if you are a teenager, you shouldn't be thinking about it at this point. And if you don't want to see a doctor, I'm guessing there's a reason behind that. If you are unable to get pregnant, why would you NOT want to see a doctor? Doesn't make sense, unless you are not supposed to get pregnant for one reason or another.

If you relax, it will happen. People who try to hard have problems getting pregnant. When I say relax I mean yoga or meditation. Also have your man wear boxers, not briefs! What exactly do you not want to see the doctors about? You will spend most of your pregnancy at the doctors office for checkups. Make sure you are healthy and happy before you start trying.

If you are a teen or a person that is not yet stable, wait until your older married and stable. Babies need alot of time, care, and love. They need: diapers, wipes, food, formula, clothes, onsies, socks, pants, shirts, sweaters, jackets, coats, shoes, lotion, baby wash, powder, diaper rash cream, nose drops, gas drops strollers, cribs, sheets, pillows, bed sets, medicine, doctors visits, toys, learning, daycare, and much, much more. Think about affording all this cause it wont all come from a baby shower. Babies are a full time and three part time jobs, if you like working that many jobs than, maybe you do have time and are stable enough. Just think first, maybe you should wait.

To get pregnant you must have sex on a day that your eggs are being released.

After the 3rd day from the day that menses started put a thermometer into your mouth and check your body temperature every morning before you start turning in bed. The best time is at about 4 a.m. Maintain a chart. You will find that on one day the body temperature drops from 1/2 degree to one degree. This is the day that your eggs are being released. If you want to get pregnant this is the day that you must have sex. Tell your husband to ejaculate on his inward thrust so that the sperms will shoot deep inside.

After having sex you must stay in bed for about 30 mins with your knees bent up with a pillow under your buttocks so that the sperms will not pour out - to enable them to travel up.

Get your husband to save his sperms in the testacles for at least 3 days before sex to enable them to mature well to do their job.
